About Collin
I have taken lessons from John Ganapes, the creator of the Blues You Can Use series, as well as learning from shred guitarist Troy Stetina. I have studied several method books from these two musicians, as well as many other books.
I specialize in metal & rock playing, with a solid proficiency in blues as well. I have been playing guitar for 14 years and continue to refine and improve my own musicianship everyday, and I hope to inspire and help other aspirants of guitar along their own journey to mastery.

I have learnt guitar primarily self study and have overcome numerous obstacles on the way to improvement and understanding of the instrument. I have had a few mentors along the way and taken some lessons from JohnG creator of Blues You Can Use and Troy Stetina creator of the original metal instructional series, Metal Rhythm/Lead guitar volumes 1 & 2. I have thoroughly studied the Blues You Can Use and Troy Stetina method book series. I too am continually learning and improving each day, so we are in this learning journey together.
All my lessons will be tailored to the individual and what they want to learn on guitar; what songs interest them and what they want to achieve in their music. If the student doesn't have a vision of where they want to go, I will use the Blues You Can Use and Metal Lead/Rhythm method books as their anchor point for learning. My lessons are aimed at the absolute beginner all the way up to intermediate players. I can help advanced players as well, but my teaching is aimed towards beginner/intermediate.
A typical first lesson will be about gathering information on the students interest and beginning to tailor and design a lesson program that will help them reach their goals. From there, whether you are beginner or intermediate, we will work towards developing greater technical proficiency, good rhythm, working on songs you want to play, developing clearer understanding of scales, chords, harmony and music theory, and a strong connection from ear to fretboard so your creativity can come out and shine. I look forward to our lessons together!
