Hello! I am a recent college graduate with my Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and I minored in Art! One of my greatest passions growing up was playing soccer, I even wrote my college entrance paper on Soccer! I played from the time I was 8 years old until I was 18 years old and continue to play it on a recreational level. I reflect so many of the life lessons I've learned back onto the sport that I found so much enjoyment, challenge and excitement playing- now I want to bring the same great experience to others who are just as excited to learn and be a part of the game as I am.
Who do I teach?: I teach ages 6 years and older!
Methodology: Centered around YOU! my teaching style is all about; high focus, directed-positive energy, fun and tenacity! I teach with positive reinforcement, critique and working with the comfort level and style of the athlete. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean I won't challenge you! Although, everyone's body is different and no two players play the same, so I really work on each person's style to fit their needs and achievements. I believe in a friendly, comfortable, atmosphere to really discus and practice what my students want to get out of their learning experience. I teach technical skills, as well as rules of game play.
Lesson Structure: In person or via webcam. I structure my lessons around goals that are predetermined by the student (and gaurdian as necessary) and myself based off of their skill level and experience. Every session can be centered around the same thing, or each session can be completely different it's YOUR CHOICE. Before every lesson we will go over the goal for that lesson as a recap as well as the drills, techniques, and foot skills necessary to get closer to that goal or accomplishing it. At the end of the session the student and I give a critique on some advancements and achievements they have made for that session, as well as some things that they need to work on. Of course before, during and after the session I am always open to questions, concerns, or directions for the session as it pertains to the student. After the critique, it's up to the student if they want to discuss their goals for the next session right away or allot time later on to contact me with their next goals and direction that they want to take with their tutoring!
Where do I teach?: On the field or via webcam! I believe in teaching sports, it is imperative to work hands on with students and athletes. Some things are just harder to teach over a screen, so in person is my preferred route but I can always work around the student's schedule. For these in person teaching experiences, I allocate an approved public park/field/space etc. for the safety of not only the students but also for myself (not to mention we will likely need all of the space we can get!).
*Of course, I have to meet at least one parent/guardian of the student upon acceptance of my tutoring program to discuss permission slips and tutor location preferences.
*Students 10 years and under must have parental/guardian attendance for in person/online tutoring.
*Students 11 years to 17 years must have a signed permission slip by a parent/guardian to receive in person and webcam tutoring which must be present at every session.
*Rides and transportation (including biking and walking) must be addressed and permitted by a parent/guardian for minors who will be doing in person tutoring, prior to student arrival along with any necessary permission slips. -> For safety and liability's sake, I will not leave a session before a student!
