About Adam
My qualifications & experience
I am a trainee Clinical Psychologist, with extensive academic training in psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate level. My background includes:
• Strong grounding in psychological theory, research methods, and statistics
• Experience applying psychology in real-world clinical and academic settings
• Supporting students with essay writing, critical evaluation, and exam preparation
This means I don’t just teach what psychology says, but also how to think like a psychologist.

Hi, I’m Adam, and my approach to tutoring psychology is structured, supportive, and tailored to how you learn best.
My teaching approach & methodology
I focus on building clear understanding first, then developing exam confidence and critical thinking. Lessons are interactive rather than lecture-based, using:
• Clear explanations of key psychological theories and research
• Real-world examples to make abstract concepts easier to grasp
• Exam-focused strategies (AO1/AO3, evaluation, application)
• Guided practice with questions, model answers, and feedback
• Study skills support (revision planning, essay structure, memory techniques)
I adapt my teaching style to each student — whether you need concepts broken down step-by-step, help with essay writing, or support applying theory to exam questions.
Typical lesson length
Lessons usually run for 60 minutes, which allows time for teaching, practice, and questions without feeling rushed. Longer or shorter sessions can be adapted depending on need and concentration levels.
