About Lisa
I live in MN, just north of the Twin Cities with my husband and my youngest son. I was an elementary teacher for over 13 years. Several years ago a student of mine that had dyslexia began tutoring outside of school for his reading. I was absolutely amazed at his progress. The next year, I had two students in my class receiving tutoring for dyslexia and again they grew in their reading by leaps and bounds. Reading has always been a passion of mine, and that was when I knew I had to learn how to teach students with dyslexia how to read. I left the classroom, spent several months getting trained, was mentored over several months by an advanced Orton-Gillingham trained tutor to ensure I had everything I needed to help other students.

It is never too late, or too early, to learn to read! Orton-Gillingham is the gold standard when it comes to teaching reading. It is backed by the science of reading - meaning it has been studied, and created using scientific understanding about how our brains work!
I have been trained to specifically help identify, and structure lessons that help to build on what skills are already there and successful, while creating cumulative and repetitive experiences that help a student build confidence and competence and learn to read.
These lessons are for any person, any age! The lessons usually last 45 - 60 minutes and happen two times a week to really see growth.
This works! I have seen it work with my own eyes while teaching my own classroom. So, many successes - I quit teaching full time in a classroom and got Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia specifically trained. I decided THIS was what I wanted to devote my life to.
