About Elena

I have a First Class BA (Hons) and an MA with Distinction from Durham University. I am currently in my second year of my doctoral studies at Oxford. I have seven years of experience in private tutoring, and I teach an Undergraduate course on Greek grammar.

About the lesson

My classes are focused on grammar and syntax, both in English and Greek, since a good understanding of the grammar of one's native language is key to succeed in languages, especially ancient ones. The lesson usually lasts one hour, and the content depends on the student's level: the more advanced the student is, the more time will be spent on textual analysis and translation.

Elena is a fantastic tutor - we’ve had weekly sessions learning Italian and Elena’s guidance has been great.

Elena is super reliable and approachable which makes lesson scheduling very easy.

Added to this, the lessons are always really fun and interactive, with Elena tailoring the sessions to our interests and abilities. We are challenged and pushed a little where necessary but not so much so that we feel out of our depth as beginners!

Elena has also had to help us with our grammar in general, so in a way we’ve been re-learning English at the same time as learning Italian - and this is all credit to Elena!

We highly recommend Elena to any adult beginners of Italian language.
