About Ondrej

I am a practising oil painter with an MFA and exhibiting experience in London. My work is grounded in disciplined observation, structure, and material sensitivity rather than quick decorative effect.

Alongside my artistic practice, I hold a PhD in Theoretical Computer Science. This informs my teaching style: rigorous, thoughtful, and attentive to underlying structure. I approach painting as a craft that rewards patience, intelligence, and sustained attention.

About the lesson

These lessons are designed for adults who wish to engage seriously with oil painting and develop lasting skill.

We focus on:
• Seeing accurately — light, form and value
• Colour theory and understanding colour relationships
• Colour palette and its role in a painting practice
• Controlled, confident paint handling
• Material understanding and surface quality, canvas preparation, framing
• Developing clarity and intention in your work

Beginners build strong technical foundations, which give creative freedom.

More experienced painters refine sensitivity, discipline and depth.

Sessions are calm, focused and individually tailored. The emphasis is on sustained development and cultivated practice.

Private one-to-one tuition available in person in your home, my studion, or online.

I offer a 30minutes free online consultation to discuss goals, develop a plan.
