About Emma
Originally from the Big Island of Hawai’i, I have a master's degree in violin performance from the Rotterdam Conservatory in The Netherlands where I studied under Igor Gruppman, former concertmaster of the Rotterdam Philharmonic, and Vesna-Stefanovich Gruppman, an award-winning pedagogue and performer. I also hold an honors Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the University of Utah.
I made my solo debut with the Utah Valley Symphony in 2015. Since then I have performed around the world as a soloist and with ensembles in Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, Greece, Canada, the Dominican Republic, and throughout the United States.
I also enjoy performing and playing in my local community and frequently participate in recording projects for albums, video game soundtracks, and film.

I help students establish a strong technical foundation in their playing that allows them to perform at the highest level. I especially focus on helping students create a beautiful tone on their instrument, while focusing on relaxing their arm and body as they play. My goal is to help violinists of any and all levels improve their technique so they can better express themselves through their music.
