About Christian

Hi! I'm so glad you're interested in taking lessons from me! My name is Christian Mote. I'm a classically trained musician, first learning music on the saxophone, but when I was 14, I picked up a guitar for the first time, and my life changed forever! I have 7 years of playing experience, I am knowledgeable in music theory, and I use very intuitive methods to help my students understand the concepts better. I like to use songs that the student likes to listen to as part of my curriculum. In a sense, you have a say in what you learn. The absolute biggest thing I want anyone to take away from my lessons is figuring out what works best for YOU. Not what works for me, not what works for anyone else. I'm here to help YOU figure out what will make YOU a better guitar player, and what YOU enjoy. I'm so excited to help you in your guitar journey!

About the lesson

- I'm here to help you master the basics (basic chords, hand positions, strumming technique, etc.)
- A normal lesson is going to last 40-60 minutes, starting with learning the student's goals for developing guitar skills, and teaching them songs that they not only enjoy to play/hear, but help them develop the skills necessary to become better guitarists.
- I taught myself guitar, and I understand using roundabout, unconventional methods that some people find odd, so I'm very open-minded about ways to play
- Lessons for beginner guitarists, whether you just got back from the guitar store and haven't even taken your guitar out of the package, or people who just need a little step in the right direction to improve their own playing.
