About Boyana

I hold a Master's degree in piano performance from McGill University, Bachelors in piano performance from the University of Victoria and an ARCT diploma in piano performance. I'm a member of BCRMTA (BC Registered Music Teachers Association) and an RCM teacher with 10 years of piano teaching experience. I have performed as soloist and chamber musician across Canada (Victoria, Edmonton, Montreal, St.Johns, Newfoundland) as well as in the United States.
My strong work ethic, professionalism and ambition, led me to graduate at the top of my class receiving the award for highest overall GPA during my undergraduate studies at UVic. That same year I received top prizes from the Canadian National Music Festival, highest overall award from the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival including the prestigious Roberto and Mary Wood Scholarship.

About the lesson

I offer private one-on-one lessons to students of all ages and levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced.

Each lesson is personalized to the students ability, skill level and interest. Beginner students will learn the fundamentals of piano playing such as note reading, technique, rhythm, theory and sight- reading, in a positive and fun environment.
Those who have former musical experience and are looking to prepare for an RCM exam or competition, lessons will be focused on strengthening musical and theoretical knowledge, refining skills, technique, musicality and building confidence. From Classical music to Pop music, I teach many genres and am happy to cater to the musical interest of the student. My goal is to equip students with a strong musical foundation and help them discover their fullest musical potential.

I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students are able to express themselves and equally find inspiration. Teaching students from diverse backgrounds and skill levels has taught me the importance of personalizing each lesson to their specific needs. As a result, my students have shown increased enthusiasm and passion towards music and have excelled greatly in exams and festivals.
