About Alexander Evan
I have studied composition and classical guitar at McGill University and Université de Montréal, two of the top music schools in the country. As an academic, I have received several prizes and distinctions, including research-creation scholarships from both Quebec (FRQ) and the federal government (SSHRC). Before going to music school, I toured and performed across Eastern Canada as a singer-songwriter and session musician. My self-produced recordings have received numerous award nominations, including Best Folk Album and Best Alternative Album from MusicNL in Newfoundland, Canada.
