About Dionne
"Sight reading, sight transposition, rhythm and timing, ear training, hand independence, scales and arpeggios, music theory, pedaling technique, jazz improvisation, and classical repertoire define my technical focus. Sitting at the bench, I recall my early days at the Queensland Conservatorium where the discipline of MMus training became the bedrock of my musical life. My 13 years of experience show that technique must always serve the music itself.
I prefer working with students who value direct, actionable feedback over empty praise. Developing a solid foundation ensures that playing remains a joy rather than a chore.
Whether we are tackling complex theory or simple phrasing, my approach remains no-nonsense. Students usually perform confidently within 1 term of starting with me. I hold a 9.0 rating for my clear instruction and firm expectations."
