About Sekou

I am a passionate Piano tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience. I teach piano to school and college students and truly enjoy helping learners develop both skill and confidence. Teaching piano allows me to combine my love for music with the joy of guiding students on their learning journey.

Over the years, I have achieved important milestones, including helping beginners become confident piano players and guiding students to perform with expression and precision. Seeing students improve steadily and enjoy music has been deeply rewarding.

My lessons focus on strong fundamentals, including correct posture, finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, and music reading. I also introduce basic music theory so students can understand the structure of the music and develop independence.

I believe piano learning strengthens focus, creativity, patience, and emotional expression. Music encourages self-confidence and helps students build habits that positively impact other areas of life, including academics and personal development.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and adaptable. I tailor lessons to each student’s pace and goals. My aim is to inspire students to enjoy piano learning and continue their musical journey with confidence and joy.

About the lesson

I believe that piano lessons should be practical, engaging, and creatively inspiring. I focus on communication, making sure students fully understand hand techniques, rhythm, music theory, and expressive performance. Lessons are adapted to each student’s learning style—visual, auditory, or hands-on—allowing them to progress effectively while enjoying the process.

I incorporate real-life examples and case studies, such as analysing favourite songs, exploring classical compositions, or demonstrating music’s relevance in films, media, and daily life. Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, ear training, improvisation, and beginner composition, helping students develop technical skill, creativity, and musical understanding. My methodology encourages performance confidence, disciplined practice, and a lifelong passion for music, guiding students to express themselves fully through the piano.
