About Julia

I'm from Rio de Janeiro and my relationship with movement began very early: I started artistic gymnastics at age of 3. It was there that I developed my body awareness, discipline, and love for movement, but deep down, my true passion has always been dancing. Over time, I found my favorite style in classical ballet 🩰, where I could combine technique, delicacy, and artistic expression. Since then, dance has become an essential part of my life and my identity. I am a dedicated, sensitive person, passionate about what I do, and I believe that dance transforms not only the body but also the way we express ourselves and connect with the world. Oh, and an important detail: my favorite food is chocolate… haha

About the lesson

My approach as a private teacher values the individual development of each student, respecting their pace, their body, and their learning process. I create a welcoming, light, and motivating environment, especially for beginner and intermediate level children and teenagers. 🩰 In classical ballet classes, I focus on building a solid technical foundation, working on posture, alignment, coordination, musicality, and discipline. Classes follow a progressive structure: we start with warm-up, move on to barre and center exercises, and finish with short sequences that help with memorization and confidence. In contemporary/modern dance classes, I encourage the exploration of movement, creativity, and individual expression. We work on body awareness, fluidity, improvisation, and connection with music, always respecting the possibilities of each student. My training in the United States allows me to bring a technical perspective combined with artistic sensitivity, balancing discipline and freedom of expression. Classes are geared towards beginners and intermediate students, mainly children and teenagers who want to start dancing or progress safely, technically, and enjoyably.
