About Timur
I began studying classical guitar at the age of 13 in the former Soviet Union where music education was taken very seriously :) My first performance at our school's holiday concert was just 2 months after I started learning guitar. I continued to explore music and guitar going beyond my assignments and even began composing music shortly thereafter.
Later my family moved to Israel where I continued my studies and entered Tel Aviv Music Academy. Upon graduation I had an opportunity to move to USA and, being an adventurer at heart, I embarked on this journey!
I settled in Southern California, where I have been teaching, performing and composing my own music ever since. I have met many interesting people being my students throughout the years. I'd taught students of various ages -children, busy professionals and seniors.
I tailor my lessons based on my students' goals blending technical aspects and understanding of music along the way. , always encourage them to explore new things . In the end everyone's curriculum is individual. I also prepare those of my students who are willing to participate to highly reputable RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) exams.

I cater to students of all ages, levels and musical preferences. I strongly believe that music as a creative art has an ability to discover untapped potential in learners. Therefore I strive to find a unique approach to each and every one of them.
My lessons are never boring and I shy away from a tedious routine. My students learn proper technique, new pieces or songs, work on their current repertoire and learn basic elements of music theory.
I use various guitar methods depending on my students' goals and preferences-be it classical , acoustic guitar or ukulele, whether they are interested in playing pieces or songs using finger picking or strumming/plucking chords to accompany themselves while singing.
I prepare my students for RCM music examinations (upon request), it's a graded curriculum with an opportunity to take a test upon completion of each level.
