About Oliver
Hi, I am 23 and have been playing the Clarinet since the age of 8. I have had 3 teachers.
At age 12 I was accepted to study at Ipswich School as a music scholar. Outside of school I was a member of the Suffolk Youth Orchestra (2013-2018), playing principal Clarinet in my final two years. I'm addition I was principal Clarinet at the Britten Sinfonia Academy (2015-2018)
I was a member of the 2019 National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain,which included playing at the Barbican, London, Royal Albert Hall and the Konsert Haus in Berlin (Germany).
In 2019, I began my studies at the Royal Academy of Music studying with Chris Richards.
I hope to share my passion for performing and music making into my teaching so that my students play to a high level, emphasing the importance of good practice technique, musicality and enjoyment when working towards whatever; from Graded Exams, Performance....

I hope to inspire clarinettists to play to a high level. To me there are 4 key aspects to playing the Clarinet:Technique, Sound, Musicality and Posture.
For beginners, I focus on the importance of embochure and the theory element of reading music. Learning to read music is just as important as learning how to handle the instrument when starting out.
Lessons are 60 mins at my flat in Ipswich or 30 mins for beginners.
