About Esperanza Varela
Years spent performing on stage and in the studio define my current teaching style. I hold an MMus in Piano Performance from Berklee College of Music. My work focuses on hand independence, dynamics and expression, and sight reading.
I also emphasize music theory, scales and arpeggios, and sight playing. You will find me direct and warm in my approach to chord voicing and sight transposition. Ear training and accompaniment skills form the foundation of my technical instruction. I teach piano full time to help students make progress they can hear.
