About Wes
I am a Chess tutor with 3 years of experience teaching students at all levels. Over this time, I have successfully guided 150–200 learners, helping them improve their skills and gain confidence in the game. My teaching philosophy focuses on clarity, engagement, and strategic thinking. I believe Chess is best learned through practice, critical thinking, and understanding patterns on the board. I cover topics such as Opening Strategies, Tactical Play, Endgame Techniques, Positional Understanding, and Strategic Planning. I am proud to have helped many students compete successfully in local and online tournaments, as well as develop a strong foundation for long-term improvement. I tailor lessons to each student’s pace and style, ensuring they feel supported and motivated throughout their learning journey. My goal is not only to help students improve their Chess skills but also to foster problem-solving abilities, patience, and confidence. With guidance and consistent practice, every learner can develop both skill and a love for the game.

My teaching approach in Chess is flexible, empathetic, and student-centered. I believe that every player learns best when they feel supported and understood. I work with learners of all levels, covering topics such as Opening Strategies, Tactical Play, Endgame Techniques, Positional Understanding, and Strategic Planning.
I focus on clear communication and collaboration, encouraging students to ask questions, share ideas, and think critically about their moves. Compassion guides my teaching, helping learners stay confident even when facing challenging positions.
Flexibility is key in my lessons. I adapt exercises, examples, and explanations to match each student’s pace and style. This ensures concepts are understood thoroughly before moving to advanced tactics.
Through guided practice, interactive games, and analysis of famous matches, I help students develop problem-solving skills, pattern recognition, and strategic thinking. My goal is to make Chess engaging, relevant, and rewarding for every learner.
