For Kids: I focus on building critical thinking, patience, and "real-life logic" in a fun way.

For Professionals: I treat Chess as a form of "mental therapy"—a strategic way to relieve stress while sharpening your decision-making skills.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

To me, Chess is much more than a strategy game; it is a form of therapy. I developed a strong interest in the field when I realized how effectively it relieves stress, especially for corporate professionals with busy lives. When you focus on the board, the outside world and its pressures disappear. It acts as a mental reset button, helping to clear the mind. I love that Chess offers a way to disconnect from the daily grind and find focus in a chaotic world.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

The professional chess family is quite small and tight-knit, but the desire to learn is global. My motivation comes from seeing kids all around the world who are eager to master this game. I teach because I want to help them develop logic and strategic thinking that they can apply in real life, not just on the board. Knowing that I am equipping the next generation with the tools to navigate life’s challenges strategically is what drives me every day.
  • How does your work help society?

My goal isn't to "sell dreams" or make false promises of instant success; it is to teach the vital life skill of calmness. I work with students, often at a young age, to help them master their emotions and stay cool under pressure. I believe that if I can teach a child to be calm and focused now, I am giving them the tools to "win big" in life later. By helping them cultivate a steady mind, I am contributing to a more resilient and thoughtful society.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

To be honest, I don't strictly follow the traditional concept of having an external role model. Instead, I strive to be my own role model. Excellence in this field demands a huge amount of time, discipline, and the ability to manage every single detail yourself. By focusing inward and holding myself to the highest standard of hard work, I ensure I am always improving. I believe that rather than looking outward, I need to focus on bettering myself every day to meet the demands of my students.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

To be honest, for chess coaches like myself, the game is a lifestyle, not just a job. I believe Chess is still a vastly underrated sport in our society, so my "hobby" is exploring the untapped opportunities within it. I spend my free time analyzing the game's potential and finding ways to give the sport the recognition it deserves. I enjoy digging into the strategic possibilities that most people miss.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

My anecdote goes back to my own childhood. I didn't just stumble into this game; I made a conscious decision to pursue Chess because I wanted to build mental strength naturally. Even as a kid, I realized I needed a way to remain calm regardless of my surroundings. That early decision to seek mental resilience through the board didn't just shape my career; it shaped my entire personality. That childhood lesson—that strength comes from a calm mind—is the core value I pass on to my students today.
