About Everly

My journey in chess began with admiration for how a simple game can develop deep mental discipline and creativity. This passion led me to earn a B.Sc in Analytical Decision Sciences and later an M.Sc in Strategic Competition Studies, where I explored the psychology and structure of competitive thinking. Over the past 7 years, I have guided students through chess with a calm and motivating approach that builds confidence over time.

I believe chess learning should feel supportive, not intimidating. My teaching style focuses on clear explanation, curiosity-driven improvement, and helping students understand ideas rather than memorize endless variations. I encourage learners to explore their own thinking process, learn from mistakes, and celebrate steady growth.

Outside teaching, I stay engaged with chess through studying grandmaster games, analyzing tournaments, and exploring modern strategy tools. Teaching chess is meaningful because I see students transform from uncertainty into focused confidence, learning to trust their decisions and enjoy the beauty of strategy.

About the lesson

Chess becomes a powerful learning experience when students begin to see it as more than a game of moves, but as a process of thinking, planning, and understanding patterns. In my lessons, I guide learners through tactics, openings, positional play, and endgame fundamentals with clarity and encouragement. I focus on helping students build strong decision-making habits, so they can approach each position with confidence rather than confusion. Each session is structured to make chess feel both challenging and enjoyable.

Lessons are personalized to the student’s level. Beginners learn the rules, basic checkmates, simple tactics, and piece coordination. Intermediate players strengthen calculation, positional awareness, opening principles, and learning through game review. Advanced learners focus on tournament preparation, psychological resilience, deeper strategic planning, and refined endgame technique.

Practice games, analysis, and supportive feedback are included in every session to ensure steady improvement. Chess lessons also help learners grow beyond the board. Students develop patience, focus, problem-solving confidence, and emotional control under pressure. My goal is to help students enjoy chess while building skills that strengthen both mind and character.
