About Nova
My interest in chess developed from a fascination with strategy, logic, and the psychology of decision-making. This passion led me to study Psychology and Strategic Studies, where I explored how the mind processes complex situations and competitive environments. Over 9 years of teaching, I have worked with learners of different ages and experience levels, helping them grow both technically and mentally through chess.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes patience, clarity, and structured guidance. I believe students progress best when they feel supported rather than pressured. I take time to understand how each student thinks, adapting explanations and exercises to suit their cognitive style. Lessons are designed to build independence, helping learners trust their analysis and develop confidence in their decisions.
Outside teaching, I continue to study chess through analysis, reading, and observation of high-level play. These activities keep my perspective sharp and informed. Teaching chess is meaningful to me because it allows me to support students in building discipline, confidence, and thoughtful problem-solving skills that extend far beyond the game itself.

Chess lessons provide a structured way to develop clear thinking, patience, and decision-making skills. My teaching approach focuses on helping learners understand the logic behind moves rather than memorizing patterns. We explore opening ideas, tactical motifs, positional planning, and endgame fundamentals through calm explanation and guided practice. Students are encouraged to slow down, analyze positions carefully, and build confidence in their own reasoning. Each lesson promotes curiosity and thoughtful engagement.
Lessons are shaped around individual ability levels. Beginners focus on board awareness, basic tactics, and simple planning concepts. Intermediate learners develop calculation skills, positional understanding, and game analysis habits. Advanced students refine strategic depth, tournament preparation, psychological resilience, and time management. Review of played games and reflective discussion form a key part of each session, ensuring steady improvement.
Chess lessons also help learners develop emotional control and focus. Many students notice improvements in concentration, patience, and confidence beyond the chessboard. My goal is to help students approach challenges with calm strategy and trust in their thinking abilities.
