About Sangita

I am a certified Yoga teacher in North America, USA. I received my Yoga training (RYT-200 & RYT 500) from Yogi Subhas School, registered with Yoga Alliance, Orlando Florida)
Diplomas in Yoga, Stress Management, Ayurveda, and Yoga Therapy from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

About the lesson

This private class is designed to meet specific student's needs. In general, the class format will be as follows:

My class environment is inclusive;

Class may be offered in English, Hindi, or Marathi;

Teaching methodology will be based first on demonstration/explanation, and each step of the pose or other practice will be explained in detail to ensure student's understanding and comfort level;

Props are not required, but can be used as needed to support the practice; for example, Chair Yoga option is available for those who may need or prefer this modality (Yoga at the office, seniors, pregnancy yoga, special needs, etc.);

Centering Practice (several individualized versions will be offered to meet student's present needs);

Introduction to Yoga, Stretches and Warm-Ups;

Asanas will be carefully selected for the student's level and focus of interest (energizing, revitalizing, relaxing, healing, etc.);

Yoga Philosophy will be shared as a supporting framework for the physical practices (for example, the principle of Ahimsa or non-harming at all levels will be interwoven into all the practices);

Breathing Control Exercises or pranayamas will complete the class based on student's needs;

A closing Meditation will seal the experience;.

Q & A time to refine and design the best possible personalized practice for the student moving forward;

Class may also include as needed:

Yoga Nidra (deep guided relaxation), Mantras (sound vibrations such as Om Shanti (Peace), Mudras (all three, hands, eyes, body); Ayurveda and Acupressure points for healing may be explored as desired to support your wellbeing.

All my classes are private, unless requested otherwise by families (Yoga for Siblings, etc.).

I teach only one student per class so that my entire expertise can be placed at the service of the student and their present needs. Class may be longer than the one hour, so please plan accordingly.

Class duration and modality (private or semi private) and price may be changed to meet student's requests (30 min. class, $30, etc.)
