I am a qualified Grade R teacher with a Diploma in Grade R Teaching and a 420-hour Advanced TEFL certification. I also have practical classroom experience working in primary schools, supporting young learners with English, phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy. My background in Early Childhood Development and ESL teaching allows me to support learners at different stages of their language journey.
My teaching approach is structured, patient, and learner-centred. I focus on building confidence step by step, ensuring that each student understands before moving forward. I use interactive methods such as storytelling, phonics activities, games, visual aids, and real-life examples to make lessons engaging and easy to follow. I adapt my teaching style based on the learner’s age, level, and individual needs.
I am fluent in English and isiZulu, and I can also communicate in isiXhosa at a conversational level. I offer both online and in-person English lessons, depending on student needs. My lessons are suitable for beginners, Grade R and primary school learners, as well as ESL students who want to improve their speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation, and overall communication skills.
In a typical lesson, students can expect a warm, supportive, and interactive learning environment. Each lesson includes clear explanations, guided practice, student participation, and short review activities to reinforce learning. I also provide encouragement and feedback to help learners improve consistently and gain confidence in using English.
My goal is to make learning English simple, enjoyable, and effective while helping each learner build strong foundational skills that support long-term academic success and communication confidence.
