About Ellen
In 2012, I was awarded a scholarship that allowed me to study/train to become a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Therapist. I attend professional developments to keep up with the latest research and teaching strategies. I am certified by The International Dyslexia Association (IDA), The International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC), and Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI). I work with students and adults.

Hi! I am Ellen Farrell. I am a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Therapist. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham method which is a multi-sensory explicit approach to teach reading, writing, and spelling often used for students with dyslexia or other language-based learning disabilities. Each lesson is tailored to my student after a phonics inventory. We begin with a new lesson, then a review. Every concept is reviewed consistently. I give 100% of myself to teaching students to achieve their goals. I talk with families as well as schools and attend meetings when requested. My lessons are geared for students from Kindergarten through College and beyond.
