About Md Imran, MSc, EIT
I am a Master's student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta where I am currently employed as a Graduate Research Assistant. My area of specialization is in buoyancy-driven flow in porous media. In addition to research activities at the UofA, I have been a Teaching Assistant (TA) for MEC E 468 - Numerical Simulation in Engineering Design (endorsed by Dassault Systèmes), a course offered at the undergraduate level for senior year undergrads in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Using SOLIDWORKS 2020, I conducted LAB sessions to extensively teach Advanced Part design, Assemblies, FEA, Motion Analysis, Thermal Analysis and CFD. Additionally, I evaluated and graded Design Reports to ensure it meets specifications and global design goals. Furthermore, I've held several TAships at the department since January 2020, including MECE 390 - Numerical Methods of Mechanical Engineers, MEC E 331- Fluid Mechanics I and En Ph 131 - Engineering Physics. Before commencing grad studies at the UofA, I've worked as a full-time Physics Instructor for the revised GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level Physics curriculum under Pearson Edexcel of the United Kingdom at the International Turkish Hope School in Dhaka. There, I’ve conducted theoretical classes, designed & evaluated assessment exams and coordinated with other sections and instructors in designing the core syllabus and course content. Besides these positions, I am also a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International), USA, a position I’ve held since October 2015 after taking on the role of being Team Lead of the BUET Supermileage Racing Team

I am a big believer of hands-on learning by doing and writing. With 11 years of experience in teaching, I know that it starts at the heart of what the student needs to excel and succeed. Starting with identifying key areas of improvement, I work with the student in developing the skill from the ground up by thorough practice while reviewing and revisiting core concepts in moving forward and achieving more autonomy and independence. By gaining more confidence in their abilities and skills for problem-solving, the students gradually build up a complete toolbox for building and editing complex features in SOLIDWORKS and gain valuable experience to tackle complex design problems. This is a method of teaching which I've developed over the last decade and it borrows elements from the Feynman technique that I used in my undergrad to the Suzuki method which I used on and off in high-school. Using this approach, my students at the Department of Mechanical Engineering have went on to lead exemplary projects in mechanical design with practical applications to research; from designing and analyzing subsonic airfoils to optimizing exhaust extractor efficiency in long haul trucks

Mr Imran taught me mathematics and phyics during my O-Level examinations for 1 year. During that time, he was very paitent and cooportive. He paid close attention to my learning progress and made sure that I completely understood the contents that were being taught. His unique approach to teaching helped me achieve the results I wanted with minimal difficulty.
I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a quality teacher to help them with their academics. You can easily ask any questions you have relating to the topic without any sort of hesitation!I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Imran both as a student and a colleague. He was my A Levels Physics and Mathematics teacher from 2010 till 2012. He has exceptional subject knowledge in the contents he teaches. He is immensely patient and applies different teaching techniques in-order to effectively deliver subject contents. His meticulous approach to teaching coupled with his ability to breakdown complicated concepts into manageable and understandable chunks makes him an ideal teacher to help you grow and genuinely learn.
If you want someone who will help you achieve the academic targets you are aspiring for, then he is definitely your guy! I would strongly recommend him!Imran is my colleague at work. He is very well-versed and knowledgeable about key concepts that go into a fluid mechanics problems. I took 2 courses with him at campus and he was very patient and gave key insights to breaking down, understanding and finding ways to solve questions. He has the capacity to break big ideas down to small-bite size ‘snacks’ clearly and methodically in a way in which the solution becomes very clear. Would highly recommend him for anyone looking to slay homework and exams!
