About Cicely
I have twenty years of professional experience in working with adults, children, and adolescents. This includes being a middle school and high school English teacher, Certified Professional Coach, counselor, professional trainer, manager, mentor, administrator, and working in therapeutic environments. I am thoroughly accustomed to working under unpredictable, challenging yet rewarding environments of both small and large group settings.

My teaching philosophy and methodology is that every student has the capacity and ability to learn and be taught. Nevertheless, each individual is unique and therefore may require different technology and methodology when it comes to various learning styles. I believe every student should be engaged in a dynamic setting of customizing their learning experience and incorporating differentiation to the best of the instructor’s ability as opposed to a static culture where every student is treated the same or as a “cookie cutter” model of teaching. I believe every student has the ability and capacity to contribute to the learning experience and that every voice should be heard and that every voice matters, not only the voice of the instructor. I believe that students learn just as much from each other as they do from the teacher and that the teacher equally learns from the students and does due diligence to cultivate a culture of exchange, as much as permitted, based on student dynamics. I believe the instructor’s primary purpose is to draw information and wisdom from students (educare’) as opposed to attempting to “stuff” students with information.
