I entered this field in 2020 and wish that I’d known about this opportunity for extra support when I was a student. I have worked in private practices but have more recent experience in the public school system, having spent time in a preschool, multiple elementary schools, and a high school. I can share insights about what it’s like to work as a contractor VS direct hire by a district, what to expect in school VS private practice, what information is really essential for the workforce, and much more!

I love having the ability to work with kiddos across the country (and sometimes around the world!) through virtual lessons. I have lots of games and tricks up my sleeves to keep my students engaged during online speech therapy sessions.

About the lesson

I’m stepping away from in-person clinical practice to take care of my baby and toddler for a while, so I want to use my skills as a clinician to give back to the field in a new way! I have experience working with children from preschool age through high school, including a wide variety of diagnoses and levels of disability. I’m hoping to guide and prepare graduate students who will be my colleagues soon and would like some extra confidence as they enter the workforce as a new SLP.

I’m also accepting new virtual speech therapy clients. These sessions are meant to complement and reinforce the care provided by a licensed SLP in your state, helping children build confidence and carry over strategies into everyday life. Please note: These services are educational in nature and are not intended to diagnose or treat speech-language disorders. While I am a licensed SLP in California, these sessions are supplemental practice and support, not medical or clinical therapy services.

I am currently tutoring students ages 3-14, and I’m able to accommodate group sessions for siblings at a reduced rate.

Abby is a delight to work with! Her son is a hard worker and an awesome kid, and Abby has been wonderful about accommodating my schedule of I need to modify or cancel a lesson. The family is extremely kind.

Tutoring for CSD graduate students: $35 per 30-minute session.
