About Hanneri

I am a certified TEFL teacher with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, majoring in English Studies and the Theory of Literature. In addition to my degree, I have completed several specialized short courses, including Content Marketing (University of California, Davis), Journalism (University of Pennsylvania), Media Ethics and Governance (University of Amsterdam), and Consumer Neuroscience (Copenhagen Business School).

I offer tutoring in a range of subjects, including TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), English (Creative Writing, Theory, and Literature), Visual Art Theory, Visual Literature, Tourism, Geography, and Afrikaans. With my strong academic background and expertise in language, writing, and communication, I create engaging and effective lessons tailored to individual learning styles. My student-centered approach fosters confidence, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Whether supporting language learners, assisting with writing and literature, or guiding students in the humanities and social sciences, I am committed to helping students achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centered and designed to cater to the individual needs of each learner. I focus on building a strong relationship with my students, creating an environment where they feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to learn. I believe that learning should be interactive and enjoyable, so I incorporate a variety of engaging activities, discussions, and real-world applications to make lessons both meaningful and fun.

A typical lesson with me includes:

* Warm-Up/Introduction: We start with a quick recap or casual discussion to set the tone and engage the student.

* Core Lesson: This is the main focus of our session, where I guide students through the material, offering clear explanations, and encouraging them to participate actively.

* Interactive Practice: I design exercises that allow students to apply what they’ve learned, whether through writing, conversation, or problem-solving tasks.

* Review & Feedback: We finish with a review, discussing what worked well and areas to improve. I provide constructive feedback to ensure students feel empowered to progress.

My approach is adaptable—whether you’re learning English, preparing for exams, or exploring subjects like Visual Art Theory, Geography, or Tourism, I ensure that lessons are tailored to your specific goals and learning style.

I can teach in English and Afrikaans, so if you're more comfortable in one of these languages, I can adjust accordingly.

Details

Terms and Conditions:

* Cancellation Policy:
Lessons can be canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Any cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson will incur a 50% charge of the lesson fee.

* No-Show Policy:
If a student fails to attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, the full lesson fee will be charged. I kindly ask that you notify me as soon as possible if you're unable to attend.

* Punctuality:
Please arrive on time for lessons. If you are more than 15 minutes late without prior notice, the lesson may be canceled, and the full fee will be charged.

* Rescheduling:
If a lesson needs to be rescheduled, I am happy to accommodate, provided that at least 24 hours’ notice is given. We will work together to find a mutually convenient time.

* Travel Expenses:
- For lessons within 10 km of my location, a travel fee of R80 will be charged.
- For lessons over 10 km, the travel fee will be R100.

By booking a lesson with me, you agree to these terms. My goal is to provide the best possible learning experience, and these policies ensure that our time together is productive and respectful.
