About Jessica

TEFL-Certified with 5 years of experience in ESL Instruction- and over 3,000 logged hours online with my students! I've received hundreds of 5-star reviews over the years on my previous platforms.

I lived in Taiwan for 2 years and prepared hundreds of students for achieving high scores in their targeted English Proficiency Tests like IELTS and TOEFL. I also helped my students work towards personal and professional goals with situational English practice (job interviews, basic small talk, etc.)
Because I was able to work with many students from Asia, I am especially aware of some of the common pitfalls/common challenges students from Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and Vietnam may face when learning English.

Students typically note the thoroughness of my lesson preparation and the comfortable, enjoyable experience of attending a class. They also mention applying my tips to their exams and reaching their target scores faster than expected.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Jess! I am a New York State-based ESL Instructor. Welcome to class!

There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to working with ESL students, and I believe in fostering a student's agency and allowing them to find their voice and build confidence as a vital part of learning.

I specialize in English Proficiency Test preparation for students at or above a middle school level. Lessons may include targeted skill practice alongside impromptu speech to create a well-rounded skill set and maintain an engaging environment.

Customized lesson plans are available after determining student needs.

Classes for practicing English conversation are available starting from 8 years old. I always maintain a positive attitude and strive to make even my shyest students have a brighter day and a bigger smile!

I customize my English classes through games, interesting news, fun stories, and most importantly helping my student express the parts of themselves they want to share with the world. All of my students know that they are encouraged to make a mistake and learn from it, and I am their safe place to have fun and learn something new at the same time.

Homework and/or pre-class materials are available upon request.
