About Christel
I am a qualified English educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, specializing in English Language and Linguistics. My academic background has given me a deep understanding of how language works — from grammar structure and phonetics to academic writing and communication skills. More importantly, it has equipped me with the professional training needed to teach effectively, responsibly, and ethically.
I approach every lesson with preparation, structure, and clear objectives. I understand that students are placing their trust in me, and I take that responsibility seriously. I use a communicative and task-based approach, which means student actively use English rather than just study it. My lessons focus on real-life situations, critical thinking and building fluency naturally.
My typical lesson plan:
1. Start with a 5min warm-up: basic conversation
2. Focus area 15-20 min: introduction of a new concept and the focus of the lesson
3. Practice and application: 15-20min interactive exercises, role-play, exam-style questions, or guided writing tasks
4. Concluding 10 min feedback and correction: giving personalized feedback with clear improvement strategies.
5. Lastly, goal setting for clear action steps for our next lesson.
What differentiates me is my strong foundation in linguistics combined with a supportive and motivating teaching style. I focus not only on improving grades or test scores but also on helping students develop long-term language competence and self-assurance.
My lessons are suitable for:
- High school students needing academic English support
- University and degree-level students needing help with essay writing or linguistics
