About Ler Yang
My journey with the piano began in kindergarten, which sparked a lifelong passion that I now want to share with my students. I know first-hand that getting into piano can seem daunting at first, which is why I am dedicated to providing patient, step-by-step guidance so that learning never feels like a chore. My ultimate goal is to see you steadily improve and develop the same genuine love for the instrument that I have, while always providing you with the encouragement and motivation needed to truly enjoy playing.
To ensure you succeed, we will collaborate to create a personalized lesson plan tailored specifically to your unique requirements. Together, we will establish a super solid musical foundation so that you are well-prepared for higher grades. Throughout our lessons, I will consistently keep track of your strong suits and monitor any areas that need improvement over time. I will also offer practical solutions to help you overcome any hurdles.
As I am newer to formal tutoring, I am committed to offering honest and affordable rates in exchange for a dedicated, high-quality piano education.

My techniques and teaching methodology:
A standard lesson is divided into specific segments, each focusing on a core component of the practical exam: repertoire pieces, scales, sight-reading, and aural skills. I will also try to include music theory when we have extra time! However, my approach is highly flexible. If you have a preferred learning style or a specific structure in mind, I am completely happy to adapt the lessons to suit your needs.
Typical length of a lesson:
1 hour to 1.5 hours
Qualifications/Experience as a tutor:
I specialise in working with beginners and casual learners to build a strong foundation and, most importantly, a genuine love for playing the piano. While I am newer to formal tutoring, I am incredibly passionate about piano. I remember exactly what it feels like to start from scratch, which means I have the patience and empathy to help newer players navigate the tricky first stages and enjoy the process.
