About Jason
I’m Jason Parravano, CPA, CA, and President and CEO of Plaza Retail REIT, a publicly traded Canadian real estate organization with nearly 200 properties across Eastern Canada.
My career began in accounting, but an unexpected opportunity led me into commercial real estate. I was appointed CFO while still in my twenties, becoming one of the youngest C-suite executives among Canada’s TSX Venture-listed companies. Approximately one year later, I became CEO.
Before joining Plaza, I spent eight years with Canadian Net Real Estate Investment Trust, including several years as its President and CEO, with responsibility for the organization’s strategy and day-to-day management. I subsequently served as CFO of the Walter Group’s asset-management activities before joining Plaza as Chief Operating Officer and later becoming President and CEO.
I also serve on ICSC’s Next Generation Leadership Network, which brings together rising leaders from across the Marketplaces Industry. ICSC is an international member organization dedicated to advancing the commercial marketplaces and community spaces where people shop, dine, work, play, and gather. It supports the retail and commercial real estate industry through professional development, industry connections, research, education, and advocacy.
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce and Graduate Diploma from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business, as well as the CPA, CA designation. I was recognized among Concordia’s 50 Under 50 and received the 2018 CPA Emergence Award. I often find myself back in the University guest lecturing on topics in real estate in the undergraduate and graduate program.
Through mentorship, I share the practical lessons behind these titles, the challenges, mistakes, decisions, and experiences that shaped my career. My goal is to help entrepreneurs, managers, and ambitious professionals strengthen their leadership, make better decisions, navigate career challenges, and confidently pursue their next level of success.
