About Thora

I am originally from Iceland but I have been in London for 10 years. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins and freelancing in the field. I pursued additional academic opportunities by enrolling in the Central Saint Martins MA fashion program in 2022.

Throughout my undergraduate studies, I seized the opportunity to intern as a creative apprentice at Chanel, Lémarie. Concurrently, I held was offered a role as an assistant print designer at Versace and as a ready-to-wear intern at Marc Jacobs. These invaluable experiences not only provided me with crucial insights but also fostered significant relationships within the industry.

Since my graduation in 2021, I have embarked on the establishment and successful operation of my own brand. Over this period, I have overseen its growth, strategically expanding its presence in the marketplace. My products are retailed through online store platforms in both the US and the UK. Furthermore, I have had the privilege of collaborating on commissioned projects with acclaimed musicians and artists situated in Los Angeles and London, further enhancing the reach and reputation of my brand.

Five years ago, I commenced my teaching career in Iceland, focusing on instructing students in design development and research skills. Concurrently, for the past four years, I have also been conducting weaving workshops.

About the lesson

I offer personalized 1-2 hour instructional sessions tailored to your specific needs. My approach begins with an initial assessment to understand your objectives and aspirations. Establishing clear goals is paramount for effective progress.

At the start of each session, I assess your work thoroughly to pinpoint areas for improvement or further development, while also encouraging exploration of your artistic identity through drawing and creative processes.

My goal is to help you improve your skills and make a mark in the industry. We'll work together to develop your unique style through research, drawing, design, and fabric techniques. I can assist with preparing your portfolio, navigating applications, and sharing valuable industry insights.
