About Janet
I am a female English speaking South African, of British parentage.
I have a Library Science degree, resulting from a love of books and reading, and 8 years of experience in libraries. I passed my ESOL qualification in Manchester, England in 2015, and left the UK to teach English in Spain shortly thereafter. I spent 6 years there teaching face to face, privately, in businesses and an English Academy. I continued teaching online after I returned to the UK. I helped many students gain the confidence to pass their exams, as well as assisting them with homework. One student went from being unable to even remember colors to passing her B1 in just 3 years, which is an incredible achievement. I am so proud of all my students and love seeing them become confident English speakers, able to achieve whatever they want, whether it be a university degree, a new job, an exam pass, good school results, or even just understanding an English song!

I am friendly, patient and encouraging! If you want to learn English for any reason at any level then I can help you. I have particular experience in teaching Cambridge A1 to C1 exam preparation to Spanish students.
Lessons will be given at my home, at a time to be mutually arranged.
Adults and teenagers welcome, however, only one student per session. All learning materials will be available in class except for a notebook and pen.
Emphasis is placed on interaction by means of speech, listening, reading and pronunciation, basic grammar and writing. Many topics of interest to the student are discussed and used in the lesson. Students are encouraged to participate as much as they can, without fear of embarrassment. Learning English is fun!
