About Nora
I am a CELTA-qualified English tutor (Grade B) and a PGCE and QTS-qualified language teacher with more than 20 years’ classroom experience, predominantly in secondary schools in England. I have also taught adult ESOL and provided individual English tuition.
As a multilingual speaker who has lived in both France and the UK, I understand the challenges of learning to communicate confidently in another language. I bring patience, adaptability and extensive knowledge of teaching and learning methodologies to every lesson.
My experience teaching adults has strengthened my interest in practical, goal-focused language learning, particularly English for everyday life, examinations and professional development. I keep my knowledge and resources current so lessons remain relevant to learners’ evolving needs.
I particularly enjoy seeing learners overcome barriers, gain independence and develop the confidence to use English successfully in real-life situations.

My lessons are tailored to each learner’s level, goals and learning needs. I begin with an initial discussion and diagnostic activities, then create a clear plan focused on measurable progress.
ESOL lessons develop speaking, listening, reading and writing alongside grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. IELTS exam preparation includes targeted practice across all four papers, examination techniques, time management and constructive feedback.
Business and Corporate English lessons are adapted to each learner’s role and professional objectives. They can cover meetings, presentations, emails, interviews and sector-specific vocabulary. I also offer English for hospitality through realistic situations involving guest interactions, customer service and workplace communication.
Lessons generally last one hour. When appropriate, I set and mark work between lessons to consolidate learning and support continued progress.
