About Riley
With more than 12 years of Piano teaching experience, I enjoy helping students of all ages discover the excitement of learning music. I teach school students, college students, and working professionals who are eager to improve their skills and express themselves through Piano.
My teaching approach is based on encouragement, communication, and practical learning. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to match individual strengths, interests, and goals.
Students in my classes learn scales, chords, rhythm training, finger techniques, sight reading, music theory, ear training, improvisation, and performance skills. I also help students develop effective practice habits that support consistent progress.
In addition to Piano, I teach keyboard techniques and foundational music theory. These subjects provide students with a strong understanding of music and help them become confident performers.
I am passionate about creating a positive and inspiring learning experience. My aim is to help students achieve their musical goals, build confidence, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.

My teaching philosophy is built on communication, creativity, flexibility, patience, and continuous encouragement. I believe every student has the ability to become a confident pianist when they receive clear guidance and consistent support.
Lessons begin by developing strong fundamentals through posture, finger exercises, note reading, rhythm, and music theory. As students progress, they learn scales, chords, arpeggios, dynamics, pedal techniques, sight reading, expressive performance, and stage confidence.
I encourage students to understand music through listening, observation, and practical playing rather than relying only on memorisation. Practical demonstrations, regular revision, and personalised feedback help students improve with confidence.
Students also explore a wide range of musical styles while developing creativity through improvisation, accompaniment, and performance activities. These experiences strengthen musical understanding and self-expression.
Besides piano, I teach keyboard fundamentals, ear training, rhythm development, music theory, sight reading, music appreciation, and performance preparation. These subjects help students become complete and independent musicians.
My mission is to create enjoyable, organised, and inspiring lessons that help students achieve steady progress, build confidence, and develop a lifelong passion for piano and music.
