About Sibonginhlanhla
I am currently seeking challenging opportunities where I can enhance my professional skills, capabilities and knowledge in an organization that will recognize the value of hard work and trusts me with responsibilities and challenges. I am highly productive, organized, self-motivated and can work well under pressure, with a depth of knowledge in molecular studies and laboratory settings
I was a Ph.D. candidate at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (waiting for results) where I pioneered extensive research on zoonotic and other tick-borne pathogens (TBPs) of medical and economic importance from tick species of domestic animals, under the supervision of Prof. Oliver Zishiri. The project was focusing on detecting TBPs and potential tick vectors that harbour and/transmit the various pathogens through molecular techniques, proving a baseline for future projects and raising awareness within tourist sectors. I have successfully published 3 peer-reviewed articles as the first author. As a graduate of various Universities, I have enhanced tremendous skills in research from different laboratory settings and this has allowed me to adapt fast in the everchanging environments. My post-graduate studies, BSc. Hons. Biological Sciences (UKZN), MSc. Zoology (NWU) and Ph.D. Genetics (UKZN) was supervised by Prof. Samson Mukaratirwa (UKZN), Prof. Oriel Thekisoe (NWU) and Prof. Oliver Zishiri, respectively with a special focus on molecular biology and pathogens of medical and economic importance and their vectors
