"Technique involves dynamics, expression, pedaling, accompaniment, chord voicing, classical repertoire, pop, contemporary, memorization, sight reading, and grade exam prep, plus jazz improvisation. Frankly, I admit my ears are far more sensitive to rubato than the average listener. Graduating from the Cleveland Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music gave me the discipline to handle varied students, from those prepping for college auditions to adults starting fresh.
My practice relies on 13 years of teaching in Seattle, balancing rigor with individual goals. I simply find peace in the specific touch that Chopin demands."
