About Valencia
Gentle guidance is often more effective than a strict drill sergeant approach at the keys. Most people assume that piano study is about rigid posture, but I focus on natural movement and body awareness to make playing feel effortless. Over my 13 years of experience, I have helped 234 students understand the relationship between their hands and the music.
I integrate sight reading, scales, arpeggios, and expressive dynamics into a cohesive practice routine. You will find that my approach emphasizes technical health alongside musicality to ensure you progress without strain. My background as a performer allows me to teach accompaniment skills that actually work in a live setting. Working with me is simply a matter of showing up ready to explore the instrument.

Structure is the quiet engine that drives long-term improvement in any musician. I start by setting up a steady pulse at the piano, checking your hand position before we even play a full phrase.
As a graduate of Berklee College of Music, I bring a BMus perspective to classical repertoire, ensuring you understand the theory behind the notes. For my students, whether they are absolute beginners or working professionals, I provide weekly practice modules assigned with every class to keep you moving forward. We will move through pedaling technique, sight transposition, and memorization techniques in a way that feels organic and conversational. I try to make sure each session leaves you with a clear sense of what to practice before we meet again.
