About Hugh

I am a PhD student at Cambridge University with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from Oxford University in the humanities and social sciences. I have now been tutoring online for five years, providing a mixture of essay technique classes and proofreading/editing services. Through the course of teaching, I have come to appreciate the centrality of technique to successful essay writing and the lack of good guidance on this in school and university curricula. I find students whom I tutor on essay writing for exams or coursework see marked improvements, not only in these areas, but across all facets of their academic lives where clear and coherent self-expression is crucial.

Hugh's own experience through school and the college has given him an understanding of what you need to do to structure your learning to achieve the results you want. His success both academically and socially shows that he has that understanding. Working with Hugh will allow you to confirm your goals and then together you will be able to set out a strategy to achieve the same success.
