About Jocelin
I am a civil engineer with a multidisciplinary background across infrastructure delivery, sustainable development, and finance/ESG, and I enjoy helping students navigate both technical subjects and broader career pathways with clarity and confidence.
I graduated in Civil Engineering from University of New South Wales, Australia with High Distinction, where I was awarded the School of Civil Engineering Industry Prize in Geotechnical Engineering, and later received a fully funded scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge reading Engineering for Sustainable Development. My academic work includes a publication in the Australian Geomechanics Journal.
Professionally, my experience spans large-scale infrastructure projects, urban development and sustainability advisory, and international development work. Most recently, I was a Top 3 Global Finalist in the IFC Impact Investing Challenge, selected from over 190 teams worldwide, where I worked on innovative investment solutions at the intersection of infrastructure, climate, and social impact.
As a tutor, I take a calm, structured, and practical approach. I focus on helping students build strong fundamentals, understand the logic behind engineering methods, and develop confidence in problem-solving and exam preparation. I also enjoy supporting students who are exploring careers that combine engineering with sustainability, finance, and ESG, and helping them think critically about how their technical skills connect to real-world challenges.
My goal is always to meet students where they are, guide them step by step, and help them grow into capable, thoughtful professionals.

I have been tutoring since the fourth year of my undergraduate studies and have worked with high school and undergraduate students in both Australia and the United Kingdom. During my postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge, I also served as an Assistant Demonstrator, supporting and supervising first-year students in the 1A Structural Design course.
Having progressed into a role at a highly competitive international organisation such as the World Bank, I bring both academic and professional insight into how students can position themselves for strong outcomes. I particularly enjoy working with students interested in civil engineering, sustainability, ESG and related fields, and guiding them in developing both technical competence and long-term career direction.
I offer a one-off complimentary 15-minute introductory session to discuss your goals and how I can support your academic or professional development.
Regular tutoring sessions are conducted online via MS Teams or Zoom, at mutually agreed times.
