About Sibylle
With three years’ tutoring experience, I take a reflective approach, tailoring my lessons to each student to ensure they acquire the confidence and tools necessary to attain their goals. I put building skill sets and critical engagement at the forefront of my approach, teaching students to think critically and with curiosity. Students with secure trust in their ability to learn and grow develop beyond tutoring sessions, tackling challenges such as school/university applications, academic competitions, and more with courage.
I have worked with students from Key Stage 2 to undergraduate level, but specialise in humanities university application preparation and A Level support. I also offer extracurricular support for those looking to make their school and university applications stand out, having supported students in public speaking competitions and Model United Nations conferences. I have also mentored students looking to build sustainable and longer-term work strategies, guiding students facing public or entrance exams and unsure how to revise, manage their time or work productively. These have proven useful for neurotypical and neurodivergent students alike, improving academic results in the short term and building confidence for students to independently take on more ambitious challenges in the long term.

When meeting a new student, we begin with a conversation about their current goals and expectations. Whether they struggle with staying focused, or are at the top of their year and keen to develop further, after an initial consultation I create a session plan which takes into consideration their aptitude, goals and the timeframe available. What this looks like will depend entirely on the latter factors; a student looking for further stimulation or Oxbridge preparation will be offered more reading or tasks to complete for our next session, whilst a student with a very busy schedule will have much more flexible extra work. If they and their family are happy with the session plan, I offer sessions with all the effort that I would expect of my students.
I am familiar with multiple exam boards, and a French native speaker.
