I have known Alisya for seven years as a teacher, Assistant Director of Studies, and Director of Studies at a major language school. She is undoubtedly supremely qualified to teach, support, and inspire students. Alisya and I met back in 2019, a year in which I went on an exchange semester. I am a university student from Chile, but at the time, I was only a high school student.
When I got to my new school in Bristol, I was really scared and shy, since I was a foreigner who was getting immersed into a new culture. However, meeting her really calmed me down, and her young spirit, her bright personality, and her amazing classes were what actually led me to get to know the peers I hadn’t spoken to yet.

What I really appreciate about her methods is that she always made us interact with one another. Of course, many may be reluctant to these kinds of classes, but I think in an international context, this fits very well, since you want your students to get loose and to get to know each other deeply through activities.
But what I like the most is that these are not expository classes in which the students are only sitting and looking at the board or a presentation. Instead, classes were fun, interactive, and student-centered, so we took part in it as much as Alisya did.

I do not think I’m able to share only one memory with her because there are so many. However, I will always remember how interested she was in everything I had to say, especially about my friends and family.

I am and will be forever grateful for meeting her. Alisya is a really intelligent and knowledgeable woman who has had a really important impact on my life, and thanks to her, I am currently studying to become an English teacher.
