About George

I'm a professional mechanical design engineer working as a CAD Learning Consultant. I have experience working as a mechanical design engineer in F1 and extensive involvement in various engineering projects, including drones, racing cars, and underwater robots. I have professional certification in NX and SolidWorks CAD software and I can teach both, as well as Fusion 360.
I studied at The University of Sheffield and graduated with a First Class Honours master of engineering degree in mechanical engineering.

About the lesson

Hands-on approach in design tailored around your individual goals. I offer an initial free conversation where we will discuss your objectives and agree what type of lessons and content are most appropriate.

A typical lesson will include demonstrations of various techniques, features and best practices and you will have time to go through exercises and design challenges to apply what you have learned and reinforce the learning. We can use the Computer Aided Design software (CAD) of your choice including high-end industry-leading software such as NX or other common software such as SolidWorks and Fusion 360.

Apart from a deep understanding of the design software and its capabilities, emphasis will also be given on the engineering principles behind the design. This is important to ensure that the parts and systems designed are fit for purpose and can be manufactured. Therefore, we can look into material selection, force path visualisation, FEA and manufacturing methods.

My goal would be to provide you with confidence in applying the knowledge that you will gain to solve real-world engineering challenges. Based on my professional and academic experience, I can offer an excellent balance between theory and industry hands-on experience.

All levels are welcome. I can help either high school students looking to gain knowledge in design and kickstart their careers early or university students and graduates looking for some help to be prepared for the industry and job applications.

For university students:
£50/hr for standard lessons
£60/hr for help with assignments
