About Michael

I have been teaching Business and related subjects for around 20 years. I can teach every single aspect of this subject, spanning a wide range of examining boards and levels. I have taught GCSE, A/AS Level, BTEC, HND, Degree and on Professional level 6 & 7 courses.

About the lesson

I have a very unique approach to teaching and learning, which stems from extensive research into learning methodologies and reflected through my success rates to date. My learning approach focuses on memory tricks and tips which allow students to retain information through fun and unique ideas.

Perfect! Michael is exceptional at what he does. This man knows his stuff he has the knowledge the know how and the personable approach to get the best out of his students. My son has been with Michael for 7 weeks and each session my son comes away more knowledgeable more self confident and more equipped to answer his business studies A level questions. Michael is especially good at explaining the relevant techniques required to answer each question type. A lovely guy very skilled at what he does. 5 stars every day!

When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
From a very young age I have been interested in business, having set up my first entrepreneurial venture at the age of 16. I wanted to combine my love of business with a genuine passion for teaching and so combined the two together.
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
Business and economics are the easiest subjects to understand once you change your mindset and once that has been achieved it's a walk in the park whether it's Finance in Business or Game Theory in Economics, it makes no difference once you are thinking the right way it all clicks into place.
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
I have several role models but they span outside of teaching and are my role models because of their determination, never give up attitude and shers excellence in their fields.
My role models/heroes are Diego Maradona & Muhammad Ali.
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
For me, it's simple you need to be approachable, down to earth, humorous (as lessons have to be fun) and most of all a complete master in every area of your specialism.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.
Keep your Eyes on the prize and never give up. With business you you can achieve anything.
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?
The biggest challenge is convincing students that my subjects are easy when they think like a business, a student, an entrepreneur and an economist ... which can be easily taught.
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?
My 3 passions are the 3 Fs: Family, Football and Food.
What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P) ?
