About Martina
About Me
I studied Spanish Philology at the Sofia University and the University of Valencia and I just finished my Master’s Degree in Theatre Creation at the Carlos III University in Madrid. I’ve been living in Spain for the last 3 years and I´ve been teaching Bulgarian and Spanish to foreigners since my early student years. I have a diploma for a professional language teacher and I did a specialization in Pedagogy during my Bachelor´s studies. I worked for two years in a language academy teaching Spanish.
I also work as a freelanced translator from Bulgarian to Spanish and vice versa and a playwright which is my career goal for the future.
Me as a Teacher
The fact that I know in depth three languages from different language families gives me the possibility the compare them in all their aspects and offer an associative, comparative and logical learning.
My Lessons & Teaching Style
As an artist, I sometimes adapt theatre and musical techniques for teaching purposes and I work with a lot of materials from real life (articles, songs, television) which make the learning process more natural by escaping from the “artificial” content which most of the text books contain. I always adapt my approaches to the needs, interests, purposes and ways of thinking and learning of my students.
My classes are for all levels, ages and objectives.

The fact of knowing in depth the two languages gives me the possibility of comparing them in all its aspects and proposing an associative and logical learning. As an artist (I am a playwright and an amateur singer) I apply many theatrical, musical and real-life materials (news, television) that make learning the language more natural, thus escaping the exercises in the majority of the "artificial" cases proposed by the teaching books. As long as this methodology matches the way of studying and learning from the student. My classes are aimed at all levels, ages and purposes for which the language is studied.
