About Matthew
For me, teaching singing is about helping students enjoy their own voice instead of trying to sound like someone else. During my 10 years of teaching experience, I have worked with teenagers and adult learners who wanted supportive lessons and practical guidance.
I enjoy explaining techniques in a simple way because it helps students learn with confidence. As lessons progress, students improve breathing, vocal control, rhythm, pitch, expression, and performance skills while becoming more comfortable singing different styles of music.
I like getting to know each student's goals before creating a lesson plan. This allows every class to feel personal and useful, whether the focus is performances, auditions, or simply singing with more confidence every day.

A good singing lesson should help you feel comfortable using your voice while enjoying the music you love. I plan every class around your experience, goals, and interests, giving you plenty of opportunities to practice, ask questions, and improve through clear guidance and regular encouragement.
Lessons cover breath control, vocal techniques, pitch accuracy, vocal range, ear training, rhythm, diction, tone production, harmony, song interpretation, microphone techniques, and stage performance. You will learn through warm-ups, singing exercises, listening activities, and songs that help you apply each technique with confidence.
After every lesson, we review your progress and identify the next areas to improve. Practice activities are kept simple and effective so you can continue developing your voice between classes. Whether you are learning for performances or personal enjoyment, each lesson keeps you moving forward.
