About Vedula

Hello! I’m a dedicated and passionate classical dancer and teacher with a deep commitment to preserving and sharing the beauty of our dance tradition. With years of disciplined training and performance experience, I bring a balance of skill, patience, and professionalism to every class I teach. My goal is not just to train dancers, but to build confident, expressive artists. I focus on strong foundations, clear technique, and a warm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and inspired.

About the lesson

1. Teaching Techniques & Methods

As a classical dancer, my teaching focuses on clarity, discipline, and expression. I use:

Step-by-step breakdown of adavus / basic steps

Body alignment and posture correction

Teaching talam (rhythm) and laya through claps, counts, and slow practice

Demonstration-based learning — I show every movement clearly

Repetition and drilling to build strength, control, and stamina

Focus on abhinaya (expressions) to connect emotion with movement

Using stories, mudras, and mythological references to make learning meaningful

Giving personal corrections and helping students find their unique style

2. Usual Structure of a Class

My classes are well-structured and balanced:

Warm-up (5–10 mins)

Stretching, basic conditioning, and footwork to prepare the body.

Technique Training (10–20 mins)

Practice of adavus / jathis / basic sequences

Rhythm counting

Posture correction

Choreography / Repertoire (10–20 mins)

Abhinaya Session (5–10 mins)

Expressions, storytelling, mudra practice.

Cool Down & Feedback (2–5 mins)

Stretching + corrections + small goals for the next class.
