About Lisa
I am a dedicated piano tutor with 9 years of teaching experience, guiding students from school, college, and professional backgrounds to improve their skills and confidence. I believe that learning piano should be structured, enjoyable, and meaningful. My teaching methodology emphasises patience, clarity, and personalised instruction.
I assess each student’s level, strengths, and goals, then create lessons that focus on fundamentals such as finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, and sight-reading. I also teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to help students gain well-rounded musicianship.
Lessons are creative and interactive, often including song practice, improvisation, and performance preparation. I specialise in simplifying complex concepts and helping students stay motivated, build confidence, and develop consistent practice routines. My aim is to create a positive and inspiring learning environment where students can reach their full musical potential.

I place a strong emphasis on creativity, encouraging students to improvise, experiment, and compose their own music. This fosters confidence, originality, and a deeper connection to the art of piano. Flexibility ensures lessons are adjusted to each student’s pace, learning style, and skill level. This approach helps students progress steadily while maintaining motivation and excitement for learning.
In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm training, and ear development. This comprehensive approach provides students with both technical mastery and musical understanding, allowing them to perform confidently and expressively. My goal is to make piano learning a fulfilling, inspiring, and holistic experience for every student.
