About Sabrina

Hey guys!
I am a native Brazilian teacher from Brazil, who loves teaching Portuguese to foreigners in a relaxing, fun and professional way!
I have been teaching Portuguese for over 10 years now and I would love to help you on your learning journey! I am based in Australia, where I have been living and teaching online classes to foreigners from all over the world.

All my students have given me great feedback and they love the classes with me! For me, it has been an absolute pleasure and very rewarding to be a part of my students' learning journeys and watch them grow so much from beginners to fluent Portuguese speakers.

I love spending time in nature and I am also a certified and passionate Yoga instructor, who prioritises health and well-being in life.

Below is some information about the classes:

CLASS STRUCTURE:
All classes are private and practical with writing, listening and speaking exercises focused on your pronunciation and on what you wish to learn.
You will have class sheets for every class to practice your Portuguese in and out of the class as well as some homework, if you wish.
Everyone is welcome from total beginners to advanced students!

PRIVATE & GROUP CLASSES ARE AVAILABLE:

Perfect! Sabrina is more than I could have hoped for in an online tutor. Her class plans and structure are organised, efficient and easy to follow. Her teaching style is calm and focused, but there is still time for jokes and fun. Sabrina is a natural teacher - enthusiastic, encouraging and knowledgeable. I came to Sabrina for Brazilian Portuguese lessons to help me learn how to sing Brazilian songs, and although my request was a little unusual, Sabrina stepped up to the task and did such an incredible job getting me up to speed and on the right track in a very short period of time. She is punctual to lessons, her lessons are incredibly well prepared and structured and her patience is so very impressive, especially as I really struggled with a lot of the pronunciations. As well as being a very present and flexible teacher during lessons, Sabrina follows up with super useful notes sent through email, which have been such a bonus for me.
I highly highly recommend Sabrina for anyone wanting to learn this beautiful language, and to feel like they are being guided properly. I am very excited to continue my journey with Sabrina and to keep learning the language.

I grew up speaking Brazilian Portuguese.
2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
Paulo Coelho is a famous Brazilian writer who I admire very much.
3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or expression in the language that you particularly like?
Beleza! is an expression I really like in Portuguese and it means no worries, everything is beautiful.
4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?
I love Brazilian Portuguese, because it is my mother language, but not only that, it is also an amazing language full of expression and passion.
5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
Portuguese is a language that incorporates feminine and masculine for most of the things we say and that can be a bit tricky for some, but this can easily be learned in the way I teach Portuguese to my students.
6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.
When I was a little girl I used to be fascinated by the Brazilian story books which I used to read at school. The books used to take me to a magical place.
7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
Travelling around the world and living in Australia for so many years have helped me to increase my skills to teach Portuguese to foreigners at a very high level.
