About Nicolas

Hello ! My name is Nicolas, I am 19 years old, I study for 1 year on Lille, and I begin this year my first year of studies at Sciences Po Lille. My mother is Austrian (so German speaking) but I do not speak German with her, so I'm better at writing than speaking, even though many trips to Germany and Austria allowed me to know how to communicate well in this language. On the other hand, I always wanted to learn German at school as much as I could to talk to my family. In this way I have progressed a lot since the 6th, and especially from the second, when I joined an AbiBac class thanks to which, at the rate of 10 hours of German per week for 3 years, I reached the C1 level in German and dropped, at the same time as the Bac with honors TB, the Abitur, ie the equivalent of the baccalaureate in Germany. After a year of preparatory class studies where I was able to consolidate my vocabulary, my grammar and my ability to understand and translate, I am now confident enough to teach it and want to convey my affection for this language as well as my advice to better apprehend, having been a student myself.

About the lesson

As I said earlier, I think my strongest argument is that I myself was a student and attended German classes in high school and high school, so I know what it is! I am aware that this language does not attract students at all today, which is why I am committed to using more pedagogical and pupil-friendly means than those used at school, and to showing as well as German is not as repulsive as it sounds :) I target the needs and gaps of the student and find a way to explain it in a less rebarbative way. I also have many resources available (texts, index cards, websites) to help the student progress in writing and speaking in a less academic and repulsive way.
